David served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970 where he was part of the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) - 5th Battalion / 7th Cavalry. He served an active tour of duty in the Vietnam War as a Sergeant E5; and was a radioman. His military decorations include the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and numerous others.
